The TWT Creative Precinct  has turned into the latest blank canvas for global street artist Fintan Magee who created one of his distinctive large-scale murals in Atchison Lane, St Leonards last week.

Dubbed as Australia’s answer to Banksy, Fintan Magee regularly travels across the globe creating his trade-mark spectacular murals. Not only do Magee’s murals adorn many of Sydney’s street art hot spots such as Newtown and Surry Hills but he has also been commissioned in places as far afield as Argentina, Copenhagen and Louisiana.

The new three storey high laneway mural, commissioned by Auswin TWT Development, is set to further brighten the local streets of St Leonards and will add to the already diverse and high calibre of creative talents participating as part of the TWT Creative Precinct.

A major new arts initiative to hit the streets of St Leonards, the TWT Creative Precinct involves the conversion of a number of commercial buildings in Chandos and Atchison Street into creative spaces for the independent arts sector.

The official opening of the ‘TWT Creative Precinct Block Party’ took place on November 27 – an event which brought the once sleepy streets and laneways of St Leonards to life.
