30 Years of the Screaming Hand
When Jim Phillips Sr. first created the Screaming Hand logo we doubt he knew the impact it would have on the skateboarding community. Designed for iconic label, Santa Cruz, the symbol has gone onto become a definitive piece of skating iconography, recognised the world over.

This year the logo is celebrating its 30th anniversary and T-World founder, Eddie Zammit, has curated a neat exhibition paying homage to its rich history. 48 artists from around the world were given the task of producing a version of ‘The Hand’ that best represented their interpretation of their experiences of the logo over the years.
Jim Philips himself is one of the many international artists who has produced work for Santa Cruz. Jimbo and Colby Phillips, Jeremy Fish and Mike Giant also feature on the bill. Locally No Cure favourites, Beastman, James Jirat Patrdoon and Stay Bold have all been invited to participate in the event as well.
If you can’t make any of the Australian dates at aMBUSH Gallery in Sydney (November 5-8th), the exhibition will also appear abroad in Taipei and Tokyo before being on display in fifteen locations across the US. Now scroll on for a sneak peek look at some of the contributing artists that will be taking part!
